Camp Nano June 2012

So I got wrangled into trying to write 50,000 words this month. See, it was first going to be in July, but it turns out they're not doing Camp Nano in July, just June and August, and the thought of doing it in August was not a pleasant one--especially if I do manage to get time to go on a road trip. So I was just going to do it in July anyway, but my friend is doing it in June and just kind of told me to do it with her. (I vaguely remember there was fake whining involved.)

So I am going to write 25 different characters, each with at least 2,000 words. The premise is that these 25 people are in the same writing class, and they've all been assigned to write in a journal every day--2,000 words a day (convenient huh?). I will be presenting the first entry in each person's journal. This way they're all introducing themselves, and they're all reacting to the same stimulus.

This is fiction, but if it looks like I might be telling a story that actually happened, I probably am. It's a lot easier for me to write non-fiction than fiction, but I'm trying to frame all of this in fiction, so that any super awesome characters I create, or any that I fall in love with, can be fully capable of surviving anything I throw at them without the burden of being "what-ifs." I really don't want to consider what I would do in certain situations, but what my invented characters would do.
